Script [Clip One] Jamie: Did you go to bootcamp? Mr. Richards: Yes, twice. I was drafted and I went to Fort Oord halfway amid here and San Francisco. And I learned what the army were pulling out. That was 8 week prep and we had some very helpful social lot of people there they had stripes on their sleeves and they all(a) told admitted, very easy to understand them they stood in our faces and screamed at us, No youre left, youre left. They were concentrated I dont think they ever said a quiet word. So we got 8 week of knowledge that everyone in the Army goes through. And I went to AIG Advanced Individual Training and I was trained in electronics. And that was back in Fort [Devins], Massachusetts. And then I deployed to Korea, and I came back from Korea from Iowa, my indorse basic training as an officer and I went to Fort [Blafor] Virginia, and it was a 23 week program and upon completion I was commissioned to sulfur lieutenant of engineers. So two lowly camps two storey trainings. Jamie: How did you feel active it [the] Boot camp? Mr. Richards: It was kinda interesting, the commence two weeks, you know it was scary.
